Watch Hill Design is the web and graphic design company that I created in May 2000. My name is Robert Heaney. I have been working with all facets of Information Technology for over 20 years, and specifically with the web since 1994. Through this experience, and my many partners and contacts throughout the Tech industry, WHD is well equipped to help bring your online project to life. And, without all the hassle typically involved when dealing with “techies”. Why?
I speak Geek
I am equally as comfortable communicating with business people as I am with technical people. I used to think this was simply a nice attribute to have and that many others in my field must also possess. 20 years later, I view it as a rare ability that is simply vital to the way I do business. The internet can be quite a mysterious place for many people, and the technical people that make it tick usually don’t make an effort to alleviate this. I have witnessed firsthand the unbelievable amount of techno-babble that is spit out by Techs, all in an effort to make projects which are not very complicated seem as if they were. Self-validation? I suppose. But this is exactly where I part ways with my geeky brethren. I have made it my business to operate in precisely the opposite manner. Helping my clients understand what they’re up against and what they’re looking for, in normal everyday language. I can break down the technical aspects of an online project and have them make sense to even the most inexperienced web user with a short, simple conversation. I have found many times that this puts a client at ease, and earns their trust.
My work
It speaks for itself. It has to… because I am not a salesperson. I won’t try to convince you to like something that I’ve designed and built. I’d rather you make that determination for yourself. I either have the product or service you seek, or I don’t. Browse the Portfolio section to see some of the work I’ve produced for other clients. If you see something you like, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me directly about it. If you see something similar to what you’re looking for, but need more… I can probably accommodate. I don’t charge for project consultation, so we can discuss as much as you’d like with no commitment.
